I hear the range in Pemby is nice, but a pain to get a membership.
It's not really a pain, just depends on how you want to go at it.
Pemeberton Wildlife Assoc has 2 levels of membership.
If you want a "range only" membership you pay your $150 a year and you can use the range and shoot, but can't vote and have limited ability to bring guests to the range.
If you want full membership, it's $60 + $20 range access = $80 a year. To get full membership, you must apply and spend a certain amount of volunteer and meeting hours and then have a member sponsor you to nominate you. Which usually isn't difficult if you have done your volunteer time, as it's s small club and you get to know active members pretty fast.
Most people that plan on being in the area for awhile buy the range pass for $150 then work towards full membership. Frankly, for the facilities there (2 trap houses, archery range, 100 yard tactical range, 300 and 500 yard rifle ranges) membership there is a steal, IMHO. Assuming you were an avid shooter, and not just a twice a year shooter....which much of our membership is, actually.

Although the trap division is very active.
