I recall a Geologist in Sask had a solid frame nickeled H & H. Very nice revolver. It was a 1500 $ gun IIRC

It seems people are frequently scared of reloading/feeding the .455 round.


This results in many .455 revolvers selling at significant discount.

Good for me, I picked up a WW1 era 2nd model S & W in 455 for 295 shipped. Bluing is thin but mechanically it's a jem

Holy Moly! $5K-$7K for that gun is quite a hefty price tag. The Holland & Holland is a very nice gun however. I've always wanted a revolver of the Schofield design. I saw a nice Schofield in the Calgary Shooting Centre a couple of weeks back as well. Antique status so anyone can purchase. That is perhaps the reason for the hefty price tag on these antique guns, beside the fact that they are rare and highly collectable. The nickel has held up very nicely over the years however and it appears to be a very fine gun. Will someone with a big heart kindly gift it to me?
