I've got a Ruger 22/45 coming soon and I want to play with it a bit. I'm wondering if there is a fairly accurate holographic red dot optic for around $100-$150. Are the NcStar optics from Marstar any good? Any suggestions, or am I better off to go with open sites until I get a bigger budget?

I would get a Burris FastFire in a Ruger mount. WAAAAAY better than the NcStar stuff. Should be about $200-$250

Granted it's only a .22, so the NcStar SHOULD handle the recoil, but I learned looong ago - buy cheap, buy twice.

+1 on the fast fire.

Thats what my MK3 Hunter looks like sans the front sight. Very accurate and fun to shoot. Makes shooting super cheap and with 5 magazines and a ultimateClip loader I can shoot faster than someone can load.

I got mine from LeBaron for 180.
