HOLOsight on a 45-70?

Has anyone got any experience with mounting a Bushnell HOLOsight on a hard-kicking caliber like a 45-70?

I'm thinking about mounting one on my Marlin, but I'm not sure if that's just a death sentence for the HOLOsight.

For those who have one: What's the hardest-kicking long gun that you've mounted your HOLOsite on ? Did it survive the punishment?

I ran one on a 14 inch 870 using slugs (maybe 50) & it survived OK.

but I would feel more comfortable with an Eotech for hunting purposes

I tried the Holosight on my 1895 for a moose hunt a few years ago and had no problem. This includes firing 50 rounds at the range.

I mounted the same on for this year's moose hunt as well. All ready to go.

I figure, if it breaks, it's easy enough to remove and go back to iron sights.
