Has anyone here bought one of these? Hard to find any good impartial info on the quality. I'm intrigued but hesitant to drop the hammer. I like the idea of a low magnification option, but I've heard pretty bad reviews of the actual image you see in the screen.

Field of view is another concern as you're basically blind other than what you see on the screen, but I understand that is to be expected especially with an optic like this.

If anyone has actually bought and used one, I'm interested in hearing your thoughts.

I'm also interested in any suggestions for an alternate. Clip on style to use with an existing scope etc.

Thanks.

I just picked one up from RDSC during a recent 10% off flash sale. With the discount its reasonably competitive with the DNT units. Full disclosure I have limited thermal experience. I have not zeroed or put rounds down range yet but generally the quality of red dot and thermal unit appear excellent, seems like actually nice quality Chinesium. The red dot itself is great, no issues at all. The thermal at 3-5x digital zoom and depending on the brightness you select images are getting a little grainy but you have no problem making out what the thermal image is even at an appreciable distance. I actually prefer keeping it at 1X in white hot and using a Vortex 3X micro magnifier if I need the additional distance/definition. The field of view at the advertised 13.5 degrees appears completely fine/useable and would be similar to a typical 1-2x power optic. The control ergos are just ok and very functional once you get used to the various buttons.

At this point I have no regrets buying this thermal. I feel the pro of a relatively inexpensive thermal "owning the night" optic outweigh any apparent cons, especially at this price point. I will try and provide a better review in next week or two.

I had it originally mounted on a firearm that I will neither confirm or deny exists. Nonetheless, for demonstration purposes here is the Holosun thermal/red dot + Vortex magnifier on a CZ trail . It actually looks not too bad in person and is reasonably balanced, might keep this setup for a bit.
