Holosun HS403G vs Bushnell TRS-25

I had a TRS-25 and just got a Holosun 503G this week. Can't speak to reliability yet but the build quality on the Holosun is easily on par with Bushnell. And the solar powered feature is pretty cool.

The TRS is fairly durable, but washes out in sunlight. I have a 403G on my Valtro and like it, but a lot of threads exist complaining about lack of durability.

I suggest you spend slightly more money and get a Vortex SPARC. I have had a gen 1 SPARC on one of my ARs for a few years, and it's been great. Keeps running despite a fair bit of abuse...

holosun operating temperature range only goes to - 10 degrees. anyone use this below - 20?

I'll take the Holosun. I have 2 and they get beat on and work fine. Use lots of loctite on the mounting screws though. I have a Bushnell First Lite that won't hold zero on an AR15, but no experience with the TR25

Another vote here for the Holosun. I have 3 of them mounted on .12ga shotguns and they function fine despite the beating. For a bit more money try the Solar/Battery powered sight with the Circle-Dot reticle. I like it better than my EoTech (sharper reticle) and the solar power works just fine under indoor lighting as well as outdoors. With the battery back-up you have years of function between battery changes.

I put a TRS25 on my AR x39. It's been good for 2500rds so far.
I have a couple of Aimpoints but wanted to see how the TRS is, and so far I'm happy with it.

When I say beat on, I mean it, too. I have clients using these Holosuns on the firearms and they are NOT gentle with them. Many basically drop the gun on the table when they are finished shooting.

I have both. The TRS-25 sits on my DA M305 Socom18 and the Holosun 403 on my Rock River AR. Both run great. Both are tough and can handle recoil. But ...

If you have the extra $$$ then get the Holosun. One reason alone ... the Auto On/Off ... I have killed the battery on the Bushnell a few times and if you don't have spare 2032's in sitting your range bag you are SOL ... lol ...

I had bad luck with Aimpoint, and wouldn't buy another. Warranty took forever.

Holosun has been excellent and I'm about to buy a second.

Which model holosun do you like better than your eotech?

holosun circle dot is the way to go. the reticle is so sharp, way better than Eotech's reticle

Not meaning to thread jack but can anyone chime in about the Vortex SPARC II as well? For me...my decision is pretty down to the Holosun 403G, Bushnell TRS-25, and Vortex Sparc II.
