Hi I'm stuck between the Holosun 407c and a 507c I know the 507 has the bigger ring that helps you find your dot but is it really needed? I don't have experience with the 507 but spent a little time on the 407. What are your thoughts? What one should I go with?

I prefer the double ring on the 507, makes it easier to find the little dot.
I have a similar reticle on another optic that I've used quite a bit and prefer over the single dot.

I prefer the dot
It might be quicker to pick up the circle but at the cost of reducing battery life
Once you get a lot of practice I don’t think it makes a lot of difference for speeed.
Dry fire like crazy this winter and you’ll be fast as can be with just a dot
It’s also a fair bit cheaper for a 407

Personally I like the larger window size on the 507 (I have a 508T, similar window size as 507). Nice to have the option of 2 MOA dot, 32 MOA circle or both.

Edited to add mine is green dot/ring as well. I see green so much better than red, indoors and out.

The newer Holosuns with the solar panel help mitigate that. I like my green ring and dot version.

I have the Holosun HE507C-GR X2 Elite Reflex Sight. This is my first time buying a sight like this. I’ve been very happy with it so far. I find the green easier for me to see over red also.

Seems like it's a 50/50 split I don't think I can go wrong thanks for all the feed back. I'm going to try and and find a 507 just so I can have best of both worlds

Got a 507 and love the green dot as I find it easier/quicker to pick up against most backgrounds. Once you are used to your sight you will just use the dot, circle is fun for a while but the novelty wears off.

I agree. When using both it’s a lot to quickly focus on. Personally the green 2 MOA dot is what I use.

507c gives you the option for dot only and circle dot so if you aren't sure maybe go with the 507 as its capable of both.

I was going for a 507 but then the sales guy showed me the (new at the time) Holoson SCS. Same green dot and circle that is easy to acquire, but no need for a mounting plate so it co-witnesses with stock sites. I really like the set up. It is compact and lightweight so it has a smaller window, but that was easy to adjust to. Integrates with the gun seamlessly, and not a bulky after-thought, bolt-on like some setups. A little more money but worth it, imo, if they make one for your gun.

I went with 507, but SCS does sound good, not gonna lie. Looks like its a tad bit lighter compared to 507. Hmmm, maybe I should try it for my next Sig :D

Agree, shouldn't be much of an issue if you're used to it.

I have a 508T with the changing reticle options. If its your first dot then having the large circle might be beneficial just to get used to looking through the sight. This is the first red dot I've ever owned but I really like having the ability to choose between dot and circle or both.
