Holster for a Ruger GP 100 4.2"......suggestion and where to buy in Canada?

Seeing as the GP takes the same holster as the Python and SW586, your options are numerous. The std 4in version works just fine. As for dealers in Canada, you may have to do a bit of digging. We have them here in the LGS and I know TSE used to carry them as well. Just avoid that cordura nylon Uncle Mikes non form fitting junk. More of a gun sack than a holster..

The GP-100 will not fit in a Bladetech holster designed for the 686. I have both guns and have two holsters...one for each. If you are looking for Kydex then go Bladetech. The easiest way to order is direct from Bladetech. An alternative to kydex is nylon and Bianchi makes an excellent nylon holster that does fit both the 686 and GP-100. It is less expensive and is easiest the best nylon belt holster I have encountered. I have one and used it in IDPA as well as for just range use. Price is under $50cdn. Order direct from Bianchi.

Joe Laroche makes nice stuff. I have two of his holsters and wouldn't hesitate to buy another. Quality is excellent, prices are very reasonable and service was great.

If you want something commercial have a look on amazon.ca, there is a fair selection of stuff available. Galco makes some nice looking leather holsters for the 686 that should work, but I have not used one myself.

Blade-Tech makes very decent kydex holsters for Ruger revolvers for a decent price. Any blade-tech dealer such as 911 Supply in Calgary can order one in for you, but I have alkways had great success in dealing direct with Blade-Tech.

Mine is a Blade-Tech made specifically for the 4.2" GP100 and I do believe (been a while) that 911 Supply brought it in for me.

No complaints other than the time the holster departed the paddle. Loktite fixed that issue.

Cheers,

I will second of the GP 100 blade tech holster. I purchased one for IDPA and it's very secure and easy to draw and has shown to be very durable. I can't suggest a supplier as I bought mine used but I am very happy with it.

Never mind, I found one
