Holster Recommendation --S&W 686-6 4.2" barrel

Smith & Wesson 686-6 with 4.2" (107mm) barrel.

Looking for recommendations from owners as to what y'all have bought?

Interested in concealed (pancake) and hip (duty) carry type leather holsters authorized for PPC. Most standard 4" leather is already built for a pretty tight fit, so I figure that would be a no go. Don't see much in the open muzzle holster area for wheelguns either.
 
Looked at that site already Wendell, but interested in knowing if tenexx had to have his custom mod'ed to properly fit the 4.2" barrel. The R4 seems to be the only option.

I emailed Mike about it and he did a great job customizing the R4 for the 4.2 inch 686. It fit perfectly right out of the box, no modifications required from me required. I was slightly worried as I changed the 686 front sight for a HiViz fibre optic but no problems at all. Although it isn't shown on the site Mike makes speedloader holders as well.

I am currently using the holster for IDPA and am very pleased with it.

Thanks tenexx, I'll give Talon serious consideration. I prefer an auto for IDPA, but using my new 686 might be a hoot.
 
If you like leather, I would recommend TripleK.
I have one for my Single Six and there are many variations for DA revolvers.
I too have the 686 107mm and was thinking of ordering from them again.
All their orders are custom as I had to wait 3 weeks for my Single Six holster.
For closed bottom, they will make it fit our 107mm.

Just to update y'all.

Ordered the #420 from TripleK for a start....

They also had speed loaders and pouches, so I grabbed those as well.

Will be looking at the Kydex one from Talon for competition too.

I've posted this info previously, but on a visit with Elmer Keith in the 70's, after seeing what he had for his 4" S&W 29,

I contacted the manufacturer Milt Sparks and they made up a replica for me and my 4" 29:D

It differes a little from the model presently made in that on todays version, the trigger/trigger guard area is now covered.
