Holster repair?

Hi all,
Does anyone know who would replace a couple of thumb break snaps on leather holsters without getting into a panic? Has anyone had to do this in the Fraser Valley BC and got it done without raised eyebrows? I guess what I'm asking is does anyone in the FV know a gun friendly cobbler?. Help if possible. Thanks in advance.
 
What I did, and I think would work well for you is go to somewhere that sells and repairs horse leather gear. I took a holster to a local one here, and he replaced the thumb snap on one of mine. Friendly and very fair price.

You don't need the guy to be "gun friendly". One would have to be mentally ill to get into a panic over repairing a holster.
 
If you need work on the actual leather, then it may be worth finding someone, but if it's just the snap that's worn out, why not replace it yourself? They're usually a standard size, and a leather supplies place like Tandy's would sell you a whole bag of replacement snaps and the tool to secure them for less than you'd pay someone for the single repair, I'll bet. If you can replace a rivet, you can replace a snap. It's a snap! (groan...)

Not a bad idea! I will look into that. I guess better than some shoemaker wondering why I need a shoulder holster! It is only the snap. The female part came unglued over the years.
