Holsters: Ranger II same as Commander?

so i'll be lookin for a holster for a ranger II .45 here, but im curious if it will fit nicely into a commander style holster, or do i have to settle with a regular 5" style? thanks

I think it would fit the commander style holster perfectly. The slide is 4 inches and barrel 4.13.

The Ranger II has a government length frame as you probably already know... so if the holster is specifically fitted and formed for a commander 1911 only, the RangerII will not fit it. The length is fine, the frame won't clear the form.

Again this only goes to preformed holsters specifically made for 1911 commanders.

what exactly are the differences in the frame between a commander and a fullsize? i thought its just the length of the dust cover, but im not sure, if thats the case, it wouldnt' think it'd be to bad of a fit, oh maybe u mean pre formed, as in like plastic molded etc.
