Picking up my first pistol soon!! Wanna get a holster and have found one through that states, now I'm pretty sure there isn't any rules or regs on that...thought I would check here to make sure though. Thanks for your time

You can order holsters from the states, no problem.

A word of advice though, do not order from G-Code. Apparently they are moving facilities. This, for some reason, means they don't answer e-mails and that orders quoted as 4-6 weeks are now at 13 weeks and counting. Don't ask me how I know all this...

FYI...

Many of the popular brands are also sold in Canada. So check with local retailers first and you'll probably save some money.

G-Code make some great holsters. I believe there is a company who is the Canadian dealer (not sure if they are on this site so did not want to mention the name, but pm me and I can pass it on) and is just getting set up (no stock yet but was told it was coming soon).

You always save buying local. I can't get a blade-tech holster cheaper than driving down to the local retailer and picking one up.

You don't buy many good holsters do you? lol

LOL sure you do. I don't want to derail the thread anymore but you and the rest of know that 90% of the time its cheaper to by from the US.

lol, I sure do.

I don't want to derail the thread anymore either BUT you and the rest of know that 90% of the time items from the US have outrageous shipping costs, clearing fees, and with the current exchange rate you ain't saving $hit, lol.

Make sure you check with your Home Range for Holster type they allow. They may have certain requirements or specs for the holster before you can use it on the range.

Semi hijack! Anyone chime in on leather vs kydex?

Kydex - more stable, easier to reholster, better fit, less money, easier on the gun, less maintenance (which is to say, no maintenance other than a wipe down), impervious to everything, no break in period, won't flatten when you go prone on it, no need for a retention system (perfect tension from day one) - (I could go on, but you get he idea - there's a reason there are no pros using leather anymore).

Calculated all of this, still save around 30 bucks. I drive to a store in us that I shipped to. Yes I have to burn gas, but I also save by filling up my yukon down there
