I don't know where you get this idea from? Retailers just add 25% to whatever it cost them from the Distriubutor. FS

I shoot lots just a crappy year last year for shooting...no gophers+ had a baby+ had lots of s**t going on+ shot my 17 HMR lots...

I'm not sure I understand the fluctuation in ammo prices at all.

First pistol and rifle prices almost doubled and shotgun and 22 ammo stayed more or less the same.

Now, pistol and rifle is finally starting to come back down to 'normal' prices (here in the US, anyway) but 22 prices went way up. Meanwhile, shotgun ammo prices have remained fairly stable.

How does any of this make sense?

I think it has to do with demand,people are shooting more .22 because the centerfire ammo is to expensive.They see a way of making more money from us so they raise the price.JMO.

BUT! Yesterday I found a local shop that sell's .223 for 10.95$ a box!

I was paying 23$ at crappy tire last year. Has nothing to do with the soaring prices of course, but awesome find!
