Ironically, I have yet to call in a shoot a Coyote with my FX3, which is what I bought it for but many crows have died over the last 2 years.
Last Saturday we went out to a farm for some crow killing, we didn't get very many due to the nice weather and the fact that another group showed up to the same farm (actually a 3rd party showed up after we got there and left!!!) Anyway, before the crows started flying a pari of foxes trotted by about 100yds out or so, they were heading directly to the other blind about 200-300 yds up the way from us. I hit the Snowshoe hare distress call and one fox ran up to us and sat about 25 yds away staring at the decoys, wondering why they hadn't flown... boom, boom, one dead fox with the 12G.
Now last Saturday we had a fair day on the crows, got about 40ish from a field about 500 yds from where they have been hanging out. Anyway, later that afternoon, on the drive home we spotted a fox at about 200 yds away in a field, we circled back to another rd, at this point the fox was only 150-200 yds ways from the other rd. I set up behind acouple of round bales while my buddy received a call on his cell in the truck about 30 yds from the bales. I hit the caller and then proceeded to load my rifle, I don't think I even had time to put my safety on and pow, one dead fox at 4yds with the 22-250!!! 4 yds!!!, 12 feet!
That will likely be the most memorable foxpro experience ever!
less than 10 minutes later we spot a coyote on the ice but by the time we got set up he was long gone and up wind from the call I doubt if he even heard it... oh well, I will kill coyotes with this call!
