I really enjoyed all of the food there. They are a culture that loves their meat, that's for sure. We were treated to many traditional meals throughout our travels and I really enjoyed it.....

We booked the hunt through Asian Mountain Outfitters but all of the hunt details were handled by a local Kygy outfitter by the name of Saku. He was absolutely first class and the trip went without a hitch....something that can't be said with all Asian trips...lol

After the hunt we spent some time in Bishkek and ran into an interesting cast of characters including an ex-pat Canadian that started his own golf course there. I bet not many people can say they golfed in Kyrgyzstan...lol All in all an absolutely incredible adventure.
 
We hunted between 10,000 and 12,500 feet and weather was +10 during the day and dipped to -12 during the night. Other than a blizzard the first couple days, we enjoyed bluebird skies.

How did you get accustomed to the altitude or was it even an issue?

I was a bit short of breath for a couple days but aclimimated pretty quickly. But we hunt a lot here at 8,000-9,000 so it wasn't a huge change. I took diamox to help with it but I'm not really sure I needed to.
 
My ibex made its way home this week...man does it look awesome. Thought I'd share a few pics.

Nice goat Sheephunter, taxidermy appears top notch as well. Ain't a very big target at 480 yds are they? Most people don't realize how small an animal they are from looking at mounts, with those ridiculously big horns you would expect to see a much larger animal under them. They really aren't much bigger than a chamois.

They look even smaller at 579 yards...lol Mid Asian are definitely the biggest of the lot. I'd say 3x the size of a chamois but you are right, they do look a lot bigger on the hoof.
