For a long time I have been needing the powder dipper that was in between those made by Lee. So it suddenly came to me. Put a empty casing on my trimmer and cut to length and just add a handle. K.I.S.S. does work after all!R:d:

I heard someone had not made their own dipper by using a pistol cases and soldered on coathanger wire handle.

So it was you?

Kodiakjack? (SP?) had replied to some posts about his work on creating custom dippers using cases and I thought it was pretty neat. At the time I was interested in just trying to get the process repeatable but his posts have gotten me interested to do the same.

FWIW

If you read the op he needed a dipper that was between the sizes in the lee kit. I also have made a few for special purposes, not because I am cheap ( but I am ) done it cause I could

Yep, made a bunch years ago withe all sorts of stuff. I used to silver solder old cases of different sizes to fondue forks and old screwdrivers. I finally got a bunch of little plastic vials from the dollar store and hot glued bamboo skewers for handles. When static is an issue with the plastic ones (or my plastic funnels) I just wipe them with a fabric softener sheet. Doin it for years.

That's funny, I thought I was the only one

Some dippers I made for specific plinking rounds

Nothing wrong with being thrifty and creative. Another cheap fix (if you have the dippers) is to fold a smaller piece of tp, and squish them into the dipper with a cleaning rod or back end of drill bit. Obviously only works if you have a scale though.

I'd bought some older dies at an auction sale a few years ago and most sets came with the a homemade dipper with the powder and weight scratched onto it.
