has anyone ever tried to make home-made shot? Would be interested to hear the methods/equipment used.

Also, has anyone used a Littleton Shot maker?

Read a few reviews, and they seem pretty nifty, especially given that you can choose shot size anywhere from 6 to 9 and vary your coolant for different shapes/quality.

I have the shotmaker and it works well. I have only one size of drippers, I use brake fluid as coolant.

I've made shot using a littleton and dropping into Diesel fuel. Works quite well, we've used the #7.5 and #9 drippers.

It's nice to have another pot for melting the lead, and ladling molten lead into the shot maker instead of waiting for it's element to melt the lead.

I use the littleton shotmaker and bought it new for $450 if i remember correctly, they come with 6 drippers and additional sets can be purchased for $70 I think.

Fralic 76 I would look more closely into using air rifle BBs. They are harder than steel used for conventional steel loads and could possibly hurt your shotgun. Just my opinion but I would look into it.
