I use alum powder and salt solution, then break, then rub knee foot oil.
Come out nice and soft. Have a few that are over 5 years old and still soft

Whats the easiest method to home tan a coyote so itll be soft and pliable?

This guy cheats using a power washer to get rid of the fat.....
I generally skim through ewe toob when I have an idea.
Then I mull it over and then ask a few questions, but generally yeah I skim ewe toob.
Give it a whirl nad if possible document along the way to share, please :)

I've used NuTan on a couple of bears and a caribou with success. Pickle bath made from vinegar, water and salt. Followed by a rinse, then rub the tanning solution in once dry.

I've spent time using alum/salt several times, on coyotes and once on a deer hide. Tried the brain/ash method once as well. Interesting experience, but not one I will repeat without a really good reason. Lots of work "breaking" the hide to soften it.

Paid for a couple to be professionally done, and even bought a couple tanned hides from private individuals. Right now I am experimenting with a quick-tan kit from Van Dykes and have high hopes for it; definitely the lazy man's route to a tanned skin, if it works. Fingers crossed.

keep informed, im keen to do/see how the flick on tan works, insta tan? whatever. seen a few different types but what u mentioned is the bigger named stuff so it aught to work , if any!

cheers

If you want it real soft make sure you do perfect job fleshing and really work the skin to make it soft. I've used the orange bottle tanning solution and its good, they last but I'm sure there are better options out there.
