Homemade cleaning solutions

After I bought my first sonic cleaner I played around with several different home-made solutions. Eventually I just bought the Lyman concentrates for brass and firearms parts and have never looked back. They work better than most homemade concoctions and really don't cost much more.

Look at the home made solutions at the link below for "Chemical Case Cleaning Solutions" and then look at the YouTube video.

I made the third solution of 1 quart of water, 1 cup white vinegar, 1/2 cup lemon juice, 1/4 cup laundry or dishwashing detergent, 1/8 cup salt for just hand washing my brass. And you can see in the Youtube video how much better the vinegar solution worked than the store bought Lyman ultrasonic cleaner.

NOTE, you can also try just using water, dishwashing soap and LemiShine in your ultrasonic cleaner. I saw this in a YouTube video and it also worked well, the LemiShine replaces the vinegar and salt.
