Here is what I did before the nice tools made by Sadlak came out.I did this not because I am cheap (I am cheap too !)but because I did not care for the CHEAP MADE aluminum crap that the dealers had forsale .I used a piece of 3/8 " plate and traced out my gas lock ,I then used 2 drill bits roughly the same size as the holes formed by the figure 8 of the gas lock . Leave one end open to slide over the barrel .I notched this out with a portable band saw .
Then lots of hand filing and smoothing and test fitting with your lock .Last I welded a length of 1/2 " rod stock to my wrench for a handle .
Way more trouble and work than it is worth ! I did mine at work while on the payroll and used their tools .
I am still useing it ,but it sure was ALOT of WORK !
Hope this helps !
Mike
