Homemade patch catcher

always thought those gadgets that use a pop bottle to catch patches at the muzzle were neat but didn't want to pay $25.00 for one. Here's a link to a home made one that's easy to make and cheap.
I used a juice bottle (i.e. V8) which has a larger opening so easy to empty

Seems like a lot of trouble compared to just cleaning with the muzzle over a rag or bucket to catch the patches.

I usually just use my left hand to grab the patches, and throw them in a nearby trash can. Cost effective and environmentally friendly. Plus how are you going to see if the patches are coming out clean if they are in a pile in a bottle?

I use an old coffee can I kept the lid for. I fill it up with patches and keep the lid on to keep the fumes out of the house.

easy to see the patches thru a clear plastic bottle.
contains the smell as well
