Hey guys, I thought I would share some pics of my Rifle Rest I made this past weekend. Maybe it will spark some ideas for someone and help in some way.

Very cool! I have been thinking about making one myself. But, since I'm not really sure how to weld I think a wood rest would be more easy for me to make. :D

I had made a simple one out of wood first. I just gave it to a friend of mine. The wood one works well to. I guess this was just a reason to play with some steel and my welder. haha

Well done man!

How long did it take you to make? What do you think it cost in materials?

This weighs about 18 pounds and effectively adds that weight to absorbing recoil... you can still shoulder the rifle on the bench but those big buggers don't kill you when you have to test or sight them in...

It took me a total of about 4-5 hours to make. I did it after the kids went to bed a couple nights in a row. I'm not sure how much it cost me. I just grabbed some 1" tubing off the rack and cut it up. I can't see that I have more than 30 - 35 bucks involved.

Very nice setup I like the elevation turret, and the locking wing nuts. You should market that!!
