homemade sand bags

How to you guys make them?

I was thinking a ziploc bag with that garden sand??

What else work for you guys?

Old pair of jeans, cut out the legs, have the little lady sew one end. Cable tie the other, or both.

grab a old pillow case and filler up and tie it shut!

I've used old lead shot bags filled with used shotgun primers. Works well.

Same here, I just use zip ties to close the end of the bag.

I swear for a minute I thought you were suggesting filling a hat with sand... but I believe you mean shooting off the crown, right?

I use a section of inner tube filled with dry sand closed with plywood strips screwed together. You could probably use heavy duty zip-ties as well.

Old pair of athletic or hunting (wool) socks, inner-lined with a plastic shopping bag, filled with kitty-litter. Small, light and very durable.

Yup. It's great in a pinch. If your out on the prairie, have a longer shot, and no rest it works great. Sighting in with no rest other than a truck hood, or even if you forget to bring sandbags to the range. Like i said, in a pinch.
