I am looking to replace the front site on my Savage 99 and would like to put on a nice hooded sight like whats on the 700 BDL's. Anyone know where to buy one of these bad boys?
That sounds like a specialty gunsmithing part, but is the base already grooved?. Try Western Gun Parts in Edmonton(?) Calgary(?) for a Canadian supplier. For US sellers, consider Numrich or Brownells.
There is a sight in place already which is installed through a dovetailed grove. I would like to replace it with a hooded sight as I think it looks better and would work better with my peep sight.
