Hopkins and Allen falling block

I just received a Hopkins and Allen falling block and know nothing about it. I'm guessing it's a 16 or maybe a 20 gauge. I'll be having a smith look it over to get that confirmed. I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction to get this gal aged and any other info on her. Any and all info will be greatly appreciated.

I can't help with any info, but that is very cool.

Any markings on right side of action? The serial # should be under the barrel. Made from 1887-1907. Nice gun.

I'll have to look for marking on the action again but didn't see any. The serial number is under the the fore stock and on the very front of the action under the barrel

A friend of mine bought one in 12 gauge a while back. Real interesting old gun. Make sure to check chamber length as I am pretty certain if 16 gauge it will have 2 9/16 chamber and if 20 gauge will have 2 5/8 chamber. I'm thinking the checkering was added by a previous owner not the factory. My friend's gun is not checkered.
