Duplicate post from another forum but I might have been in the wrong one. I just finished working on an old Cooey Model 60 and I was really happy with the results. I was showing a friend and he said he had an old shotgun that he'd inherited. He'd never shot it and didn't know a lot about it. I did a little bit of research. It's a 100 year old Hopkins and Allen SxS hammerless shotgun. It's in rough shape externally but locks up tight and the bores looked pretty good. The wood is all there and in pretty workable. I think it's probably just a cool a wall hanger but I want to try making it functional first. I stripped it down and found the reason why it became so neglected. One of the firing pins broke off the left hammer and someone disassembled it - probably on a farm with big punches and hammers. Unfortunately the the main spring carriers and main springs didn't go back in the gun and they didn't fix the firing pin. Parts seem pretty difficult to find just with google. I wouldn't mind some opinions on it. I don't intend to shoot it with anything other than lightly loaded rounds or possibly target rounds if it goes together well and that's if at all. Long story short I think the old grocery getter could be saved but I just can't tell if it's worth it or where to start looking for the missing pieces.

Model 60:

Hopkins & Allen - sorry for the crappy picture but I only snapped one shot after disassembly. SN is 29088 and stamped on most major parts. I can take more if needed.
