Hornaday V-Max and H414 powder?

Hi there:

Does anyone have the latest Hornaday loading manual, who could check the power charge for H414 powder, with a 50 gr. V-Max bullet?

Might require just a tad more information.....like maybe the cartridge your reloading

That is WW 760, a very, very slow powder for that bullet. It would eb about right for a 80 gr.

Do you have anything faster? You want something like varget, RL15. 4895 or 748.

As for a load, just dip the case in the powder and seat the bullet.

Edit: I made a stupid comment here, assuming you were loading 223.

H414 is a Hodgdon powder. Made for .22-250 and up. No .223 data.
What cartridge are you loading? Load for the bullet weight. The make of the bullet doesn't matter.

Using H414 at 38.5 grs. now. Was wondering what the new book had.

I have a listing elsewhere for 40 gr of H414 at 3750fps with 50 gr bullet.

I think H414 is re-labelled WW760.

The Sierra manual will let you load a 22-250 with Win 760 with a max load of 40.8 gr, with a 50gr bullet to a velocity of 3800 fps. FS

latest hornady manual for 50gr. vmax lists 760 at 36.2gr start 40.2 finish for the 22-250
