Hornady 178g Match BTHP - IMR 4064

I'm loading hornady 180 BTSP's with 45.4 grs of IMR-4064 in winchester cases and Fed 210 primers for one of my 308's....no pressure signs and on number 6 to 7 for reloads.

Work your load up in your rifle to see if its safe! :)

The hodgdon http://www.hodgdonreloading.com/data/rifle website shows a starting load of 40.7gr and max load of 45.2gr of IMR4064 for a 180gr bullet. A 178gr bullet would basically be the same. These loads are for Winchester cases, 1:12 24" barrel and Fed 210M primer. Work up YOUR loads in 0.5 gr increments from the starting load and look for pressure signs. My load, using the Hornady 178 BTHP bullets, in my rifle works best with 44.5gr of Varget, which is just under the max load. I have no pressure signs and am on my 10th reload for my Winchester cases. BTW, I love the 178Gr Hornady, it gives me 0.5MOA 5-shot groups on a regular basis. Good luck and have fun!!
