Hornady 22 ammo

Hornady doesn't make ANY rimfire themselves.

Their various 17's and 22 WMR are made for them by CCI.

They supply the bullets and CCI does the rest so it probably not economical to have "someone else" produce 22's for them.

Speaking of CCI .22 ammo though, upnorth or anyone else that's into playing around with the 10/22, have you tried any of that new CCI suppressor ammo? Looks to be inbetween their subsonic and quiet .22, wondering if it would cycle in a 10/22 and be nice and low in noise like the quiet .22 for plinking, I would like to find a box local and try it with the KIDD light spring.

This new CCI suppressor ammo is a 45gr at 970 fps, quiet is 40gr at 710 fps, I like the quiet for plinking with my old pump guns, would like to try the CCI suppressor in a semi to see if it will cycle.

It is very expensive to tool up from scratch to build rimfire ammo and as noted their 17 HMR is made for them by CCI. The law of diminishing returns would require years of sales to even break even on the initial investment. In spite of the recent high prices for .22 ammo, I doubt any ammunition company would tool up at any price. Phil.
