Hornady 308 brass

I came across a batch of Hornady 308 brass (both factory rounds and new ones) that the primer pockets are so small that the primers won't go in.

Anyone else has similar experience?

Hornady brass has a slight crimp on the primer pockets. A quick couple twists with a chamfering tool will get rid of it.

That's what I do. Use a reamer.

Strange my 6.5 ,CM and 7-08 are all ok.

I’ve done the reamer routine on crimped Federal Match .308Win brass, but what a PIA, and especially so if you’re running a Dillon 550 and the occasional one still ‘hangs’ up.

Now I just throw all crimped primer pocketed brass into a large storage bin saving it for a rainy day when there are no other options. Just buy a ton of Lapua brass and even Starline brass and never worry about rainy days. And then we have cases that have either large or small rifle primers. Don’t get me started…My Dillon progressives hate those also.

yup and that's why i don't use it lots of brass out there i don't need to F around with hornady brass
