Hornady .308 Match

I purchased a Browning BAR in .308 recently and wanted to get it sighted in etc. at the range. Went to my local supplier and started asking for various boxes of .308. When I asked for some Hornady Match ammo he brought me a box of A-Max 155gr which had a sticker on it indicating "Not intended for use in semi-automatic firearms."

I'm left wondering why only this one cartridge in their .308 Match line up would have issues with semi-autos? What's so special or not special about it?

I don't believe the projectiles are crimped like they are in the TAP ammo as a result they can compress into the casing as they bump up against the magazine during recoil. This affects overall length and accuracy.

Very right, just took a look a some 155 Match Hornady( love that commercial ammo) i have in my ammo safe and Dizzy is right, no crimping... JP.
