Has anyone tried these on moose in the 45-70. I have a friend thats going to Newfoundland moose hunting and he's taking his 45-70 NEF. He wants a good moose load. I have tried them out of my 1895GS they work good but have not shot anything with them yet. The velocity was right at 1900 in my marlin. I have used the 350RN in my 458 Winchester so I always have them on hand as well. Any feed back would be great thanks.

I have a .45-70 Marlin 1895GS and I'm just in the process of loading some up. Accuracy wise, I've had great results with the Speer 400gr FP:D. While I haven't tried the Hornady 350gr RN, I have used the same thing in a FP and they do work pretty well, again accuracy wise. One of the members on this website has sent me some Remington 405gr FP's. They supposedly work really well, so, my next test session is a reloaded box of each, 350gr Hornady FP's, 400gr Speer FP's & the Remington 405gr FP's. I haven't 'tried' any on game, yet, but I'm hoping to do so this season. ;)

3 moose, 5 bears. 150yrds to 6paces. all preformed flawlessly. do a search as ive written the report to many times it seems....

they are the only bullet you'll ever need in a .450/.45-70

Thanks gents sounds good, I might load them up for my self for Black Bear this fall. For deer I'm going to use cast, shooting well under 100 yards in the thick stuff.
Cheers
