I’m using a new RCBS die set and the tips are getting smushed off and cut half off. There’s a tiny piece inside the seating die where the tip is bumping up against and while seating the bullet is getting cut by that tiny bullet seating thingy inside the seating die. I’m new to reloading by the way. Not every bullet gets damaged tho only some

Remove the seater plug and inspect it for sharp edges around the mouth opening.

Now check how well the bullet fits inside the seater plug. It the bullet wiggles around the seater plug it is a poor fit for your bullet.

Make sure the seater plug is centered in the die.

Make sure the case is pushed all the way into your shell holder and the case is not off center or tilted when entering the seating die.

If your resizing dies expander is pulling the case necks off center this could be causing a tilted bullet to enter the seater plug off center.

Having a runout gauge helps setting up the sizing die and seating die and making straight concentric ammo.

Sounds like your bullet is sitting #### eyed on the case mouth as it rides up the die and isn't being guided up into the seating stem. Instead the tip of the bullet is hitting the edge of the seating stem. Try standing the bullet up straight in the case before seating and make sure it doesn't fall over.

To expand a little on what supernova stated above.

If you use a Lyman type "M" expander it will allow you to start the bullet straight in the case mouth with just your fingers. Meaning the bullet will not be tilted entering the seating die.

I like Forster dies for making very concentric ammo, below is their seating die that holds the case and bullet in perfect alignment.
