Hornady american whitetail

A few weeks ago I went to the range and tried a few different commercial loads.
I always take 150gr or 168, never bigger or smaller.
After firing the first round of Hornady AW I had fumes going out of the chamber aera, almost as thick as smoke. I tought it was maybe just the grease burning off, and at the 5th round I decided to inspect them.

They are not placed in order of fired case but you can see some cratering and the obvious pierced primer. I'm done shooting Hornady in my M305.

Good idea. Look at surplus for that rifle.

I've shot plenty of surplus, I was just exploring other commercial load to see if I could find something more accurate. So far the 150gr federal powershock is good.

Wicked, that's good to know, so far that ammo has provided my M25 with my best commercial ammo grouping, with a close second going to federal premium Sierra match kings.
