I use a Hornady bullet comparator with their modified cases to determine the cartridge overall length (to ogive) to the lands for my particular rifle chambers. Is there any reason that I couldn't use a standard 7mm-08 modified case in a 7mm-08 Ackley improved chamber to determine this same measurement?
I would think that I could since AI chambers are designed so that the should/neck junctions remains the same to maintain proper head spacing when using a standard cartridge in an AI chamber.
Has anyone done this and can lend some advice?
