190gr

220gr
IMR-4831 MIN 44.0 & MAX 56.6

There is no recipie for the Hodgen powder, but i dont think there is to much difference between the two powders.

On hodgen site there is two listing
200 GR. NOS AB Hodgdon H4831 .308" 3.300" 55.0 2427 42,100 CUP 59.0C 2586 49,300 CUP
and

200 GR. SPR SP Hodgdon H4831 .308" 3.230" 54.0 2436 43,200 CUP 57.5C 2577 49,400 CUP

I loaded some at 55gr but there compressed when loading to 3.250

Just looking for different info..

I couldn't find anything on "LoadData" for your bullet. "Quickload" software has it. I'm posting some of it with the usual disclaimer that "You're on your own" ok?

The following is for H 4831 under a 30-06, 208 gr A-max and assumes a 24" barrel. The quoted SAAMI PMax = 58,740 psi. (Note: H 4831 not H 4831sc)

54 gr : Pressure = 44,487 psi, MV = 2383 f/s, Burn rate = 92.14 %.
56 gr : Pressure = 50,081 psi, MV = 2478 f/s, Burn rate = 93.94 %
58 gr : Pressure = 56.484 psi, MV = 2574 f/s, Burn rate = 95.54 %
58.6 gr : Pressure = 58,584 psi, MV =2603 f/s, Burn rate = 95.97 %
58.7 gr : exceeds PMax quoted above !!

I personally don't trust "Quickload" software as a stand alone resource and use it only in conjunction with a reloading manual. When the loads do compare well with your range work/chrony, I think "Quickload then gives you a good idea as to whats going on inside your chamber. Good luck.
