Anyone shoot / reload these bullets? I want to use them for hunting in 30-06 and 7mm rem mag. Also if you have had good experiences with other brands for these 2 calibers please post your opinion.

I load 165gr IB's in my .308's, and 225gr IB's in my .338WM. They shoot well in both cals, but I haven't tried any bullets that don't shoot well in these rifles. TSX, Interbonds, Accubonds, and Interlocks all shoot moa or better for me...

Will be trying for deer this season with 165gr IB's...

My White tail go to bullets are Hornady Interbond and Nosler Ballistic tip.
Longest tracking was 40 yards.
I highly recommend both of these bullets!

Hey Brad, I just picked up a box of 225gr Interbonds yesterday for my XCR 338wm. I'm going with H4350 powder since I already has some from my 30-06.
Charge wise, I have a pretty good idea what range to start with but I've never loaded the Interbonds before.

Any tips for OAL or distance off the lands as a starting point?

0.050 or 0.030?? as a start??

Barnse's TSX bullet has become very popular and you might want to look at it too. There's nothing wrong with older designs like the Nosler Partition as well.

I never had any luck getting the 7mm, .308 and .375 Interbonds to shoot in a few different rifles. The same rifles shot many other bullets includeing Interlocks very well. After a while I just quit trying them anymore. Friends had the same findings.
That's not to say they didn't have their uses. There was a point in time when the .375 Interbonds were actually getting blown out cheaper than the Interlocks (Nobody else wanted them either?), and I hammered pails of those out in rapid fire offhand practice.

Interlocks hold together better IMO from griz to antelope no bullet failures so far......................Harold

Interbond 165's in 308 shoot very accurately through my 300WM with 1:10 twist. Haven't tried them on game yet. I've had good experience with 308 150gr interlocks.

The interbond 154gr shot moa the first load I tried in the father inlaws 7 Rem Mag. Considering it only had a compact 4X Leupold I was impressed. This was using H4831SC well below max, I'd have to check my data if you need load suggestions.

Used the same bullet on both a whitetail and a wolf. Both were one shot kills. On the deer the bullet travelled almost the full length of the deer and remained a picture perfect mushroom. I have gone back to the Interlocks as they shoot just as well and hold up nicely in my 7x57. For your 7mag you may opt for keeping to the Interbond just so it holds up better.

Haven't had the interlocks stop inside an animal yet to compare to the Interbond, not in 7mm cal anyway. In 338 I have collected two and they work really well.

I usually start them at .020 and go from there. Funny enough, my Interlock and Interbond loads are both at 3.4"...

So is the SST just an Interlock with a Polymer tip? It looks that way to me by the shape and price.

The Interbond jacket is "bonded" to the core to prevent separation. The interlock style would be like pouring the molten lead into the copper cup, and putting a ring around it to "lock" it together. More prone to separation at higher impact velocities...The SST is even more prone to destruction because of the tip...

A while back, my son in law lent me his custom 375 H&H to 'play with'. Basically I punched paper with it and never got the opportunity to try it out on game. One of the bullets I reloaded for it was the Hornady 300grRN IB. Accuracy wise it was as good as any but there were discussions, I believe in CGN, of some less than desireable results on game. I think the end result of some trials in Africa, a decission was made to take them off market.

Exactly right, Hornady quit making the initial .375, .416 and .458 interbonds, and the matching solids. At least they admitted the mistake, conceding that bullets that turned into tinsel shouldn't be loaded into DG cartridges. The solids were replaced by going back to the old pattern steel jacket, I don't know what they did with the softs because I quit paying attention.

When you mentioned IB's in 416 & 458, 'bells' went off. I did a quick check of my component supplies and see I happen to have two boxes of 45 cal Hornady 500gr RN Interbond #45049. In addition, I have a supply of Hornady 500gr RN #4504. I would guess with the IB's, they should be alright for punching paper out of my 458WM or are reduced loads 'suggested'?

I used 338 caliber Interbonds on 3 deer and a moose out of my 338 RUM and they worked great. I recovered the bullet from the moose and it retained about 75% of its weight and expanded over double it's original diameter, the deer had holes in the ribs on the exit side that I could almost fit my fist in.
