Sounds like fairly dramatic expansion, but not excessive. What range and velocity?
 
It was an average of 240 yards for all shots, the moose was 243 yards, I used my rangefinder to check. All the animals were on farm land, very open country. The 225 gr Interbonds were doing just under 3000 at the muzzle, according to an online ballistics calculator they should be doing about 2500 at 240 yards. I had put over 250 rounds down range (lots of powder) before this hunt and used a Stoney Point Polecat rest for most of the shots.

Interbond bullets

Love them, period they work on everything we hunt and have never had a failure...always a picture perfect mushroom and great weight retention...

We are not a Magnum family. We shoot 7mm-08 Rems x 2. I did have a 7mm Mag but did not like the expense of 60+ grains of powder each time you fired a shell...so I sold it for a 7mm-08 and worked up a load with a Hornady 139 IB over Varget and an Federal Match Primer chronied at 3075 fps at 15 ft from a 28" barrel same load chronys from my wifes Rem 700 SPS at 2920 fps.

I shoot a T/C Pro Hunter and its really long throated my bullets come out over 2.900 and the gun will shoot dimes all day out to 400 yds, the load did take a Mule Deer buck at 317 yds broke the right hip travelled through the body and broke the left front shoulder and stuck in the hide retaining 120 grns of weight...it only shed 19 grains...WOW.

We were very pleased.

This same load accounted for a Moose at 167 yds breaking a rib on the left side and breaking the right side shoulder again lodging in the hide...

They have been awesome for us...take care

I load 165's for my .06 and 139's for my son's 7-08. On the same day a few weeks back I took a mulie at about 350yds and he a mulie at 10 yds. Both animals died before they took a second breath. Both were pass throughs, with no too much damage at the exit area.
