Has anyone got any experience with the Hornady interbonds?
I have a .25/284 that I usually use 115 partions in but I have been wondering about trying the Hornady Interbonds. Deer size game and I'll push them around 3000 fps.

IN the calibres I've loaded them for I've had very poor accuracy. 7mm rem mag, and 270 win. The only time even close to acceptable was with the bulelts seated WAY off the lands.

I have tried them in a 30-06 with poor accuracy results. I get much better accuracy with their standard Spire points.

My '06 loves them. It will repeatably cut 1/2" groups with them.

I do agree with Todd though in that you will spend a lot of time looking for any in 25 calibre.

I shot a deer in the hip after a friend shot him and he was running away (7mm 154gn) i could put my fist through the entrance hole
way to much damage and not enough penatration
useing the tsx now

if you don't shoot things in the hip you might not have that problem. shallow bone will cause nastyness with most bullets.

tried the behind the shoulder approch?

Geez listen to MR. Perfect :puke:

I shot them from my .270 last year and was not overly thrilled with the accuracy.

I took a mulie at over 200 yards last fall, hit him in the brisket dead as a do-do. Bullet made its way inside the spine all the way to the end of the ribs. Then a spring bear this year at 10 yards. Dead also. As far as accuraccy I can shoot 3/4" groups all day out of my 30.06 I'm sold!!

So far I have tried them in 7mm, 30 and .375. Accuracy wasn't near as good as the old Interlocks. Bad enough that I have never taken them hunting, so have no experience in terminal performance. Some people seem to have luck with them though.

I used the 150 gr Interbonds in my 30-06 a few years ago on a nice mule deer. It was a broadside shot at about 175 yards or so and the bullet exited, but seemed to perform well. Like a few other guys have mentioned, the accuracy could have been better, at least from my rifle.

I shot a whitetail at 225yds w/ a 300WM/165gr IB. It went through 6" of spine and 5 or 6 ribs and stayed under the hide. I got great accuracy using Hornady factory ammo but I don't think you'll find .25cal components.

I ama little disappointed to hear people say they are inaccurate.

My plan was 130 gr interbonds for deer and 160 gr partitions for anything bigger.

I haven't fired enough inerbonds yet to say much as I am all moose right now. Hope I am not disappointed.

I have noticed they are about 1 inch higher than equivalent loaded interlocks though. That did surprise me.

Im sure you could get them shooting well with some different loads but from my expierence in my .270 last year I got them down to about 1.75" and gave up.
I switched to a CT Ballistic Silvertip and right off the bat I was get 1" and better and stuck with that Both bullets were 130 grainers.
Ive had awsome success with their varmint bullets but as far as big game I head over to the Nosler camp:D

Not sure bout the rest of you but I'mm getting great results with 165 gr. IB's in my 300WSM Savage.

The one shots a fouling round, and the other one is prior to making a scope adjustment.

100yds top, and 350yds bottom.
As for on game performance they appear to perform as advertised with muzzle velocities around 3130fps. I have shot 5 head of game with this load and have not managed to recover a bullet yet. Exit wounds were not overley large more like what you come to expect for a Partition and the like. Entrance wounds did'nt appear to extreme, just about normal amount of blood shot given the respective distance for the shot.
Distances ranged from 65 to 360yds.

I get results like Steelco. Great accuracy and awesome results on bear deer and moose.....used in 30-06, .270, 338, and 300 weatherby.

I'm getting good accuracy out of my 280 (139gr). Only one animal last year, but that 5 point dropped so fast I lost sight of him! I'm using them again this year.
