Hornady is making 22 ammo now?
i was surprised when i walked into the local hardware store and saw some bricks of it in the cabinet.
i picked up a couple to test out.
had them out today.
not bad ammo!

only burned through 200 of them but they where doing one big jagged 1" hole at 25m.
i had CCI standard out as well and the Hornady was grouping tighter then them.

but for the price.....
$55 for the Hornady per brick.
the CCI Standard was $40.

I have had some of the Hornady Target since last year.
Packaging would say it came off the CCI assembly line in the paper boxes.
I did not find it to anything special and CCI SV is actually better.
The Brick of Hornady was around $60 after tax which is $15 more than CCI.
Currently burning it off breaking in my 10/22 Dlask barrel.

The Hornady is around 2"+ at 100 yards. The following is Federal Match 922A:

Well 17 HMR is a hornady creation to the best of my recollection. As for this new 22 it is almost deffinitley CCI. I am drawing a complete blank which CCI it likely is but the stuff I bought was identical to the Federal Black Pack (also cci). Still haven't shot it yet.

went out again today to do a little more shooting

those Blazers are made by CCI, and the CCI (on the right) are of course made by CCI.
and those Hornady's look exactly the same as those 2!

I shot 100 rounds yesterday, 40 gr copper plated hollow points, jammed a few times, my target pistol would not work att all with them, jammed all the time. Not one im going to buy again.

I tested out some of their 40gr hollow points. Best I could get them to shoot in a custom 10/22 was 3/4" at 50 yards. The hollow points did an absolute number on gophers tho. Dollar for dollar they aren't really worth it.

Testing some through my 10/22 at 100 and 192 yards.
Other ammo was fired and by the end of the session the Hornady shot the best 10-shot groups at 192 and by a slim margin at 100.
It also shot the worst groups at both distances.
At 100 - 1.35" and 3.75.
At 192 - just under 4" and just over 8" at 192.
No FTF nor FTE.
For what I paid, I would use CCI SV instead which is $20.00 per brick cheaper.
