Hornady Leverevolution 30-30

Is the Hornady Leverevolution 30-30 ammo that much better for balistics then the typical winchester round nose stuff? I had someone tell me this stuff is the #### to use past 100 meters. Im curious if he is right. Is this hornady stuff that much better for longer and more accurate shots?

I've never tried it personally yet but my buddies love them and say they can really reach out with these bullets. Never heard a complaint yet

If I am not mistaken, Hornady's numbers for the stuff are out of a 24" barrel. I have used it out of my 20" barrel, and could see no difference on deer to 200 yards as compared to Winchester 170 grain Silvertips. Your mileage may vary.

If your rifle likes them, they certainly help with reaching out to 200-250 yards.

I think there over rated,I've harvested deer with both,and you can't beat the good ole 170gr Winchesters

Hornady's ballistics(definitely out of a 24" barrel) show that a 160, sighted in 3" high at 100, will be at .2" high at 200. Drops like a brick past there.
