I would like to shoot leverlevolution ammo in my pre 64 '94. The directions on the box reads that a a different magazine follower is required to provide the best possible functioning of the last round out of the magazine. Has anyone else tried this type of ammo in a older 30/30? Better yet, would anyone else know where to get a different magazine follower for a pre '64 30/30??

Are pre '64s the only guns with problems?

I have an early '70s Win 94 and it has no problems with LeverEvolution. My suggestion would be to try it then worry about the mag follower if you have problems.

Very accurate ammo but in certain rifle they don't cycled proprely, could be the shorter case, in 77 44 they fit the mag and cycle good in my marlin 44mag they sometimes jams if i lever to fast, i guess you have to try it in your weapon... JP.

I shoot Hornady Leverevolution 160 grains in my pre-64 Winchester 94 in 30.30. It's from the early '50s. When I first got it, it cycled and shot fine. But this year on the deer hunt it was not bringing up the second shell (good thing it was my backup). I took it to Gagnons to fix the extractor and have not been to the range yet to see if it works. I hope it's fine because I love the Hornadys. Keep us posted if you get a follower and where you get it...I may have to get one myself. I will let you know if my 30.30 cycles fine after having the extractors sharpened, maybe that's all yours needs.

I have a post 64 angle eject and have shot a box and a half thru my gun and no problems of any kind, I also shot a buck at 40 yards and the bullet went thru the deer and kept going, the deer did not go 10 yards before it expired.

I reloaded the Flextip. Bullet in my .33 WCF and it doesn't feed at all. Only the Hornady Flat nose work properly in that rifle.

No isue in my '70's M94...I took two deer last season and the LE cycled great!

If you do have an issue with the last round, use a standard Winchester PP or Rem CL as the first round in the mag and then follow them up with the LE's......save you getting something modified if you really don't have to and how many times do you empty out your mag at game anyway?

Accuracy is good out of my Ruger 77 44 carbine, have yet to chrony them but they print high at a 100 metres so it would not suprise me if they run 2050 fps, they shoot just a tadd lower of Fiocchi Extrema 200 grs that run 2100 fps... JP.
