Hello
I just ordered a Hornady progressive ez ject and wondering what else I need to get going.

I'm currently loading 9 mm and 45acp. On a SS press.
Shellplate or Shellplates?
Will any brand of dies work?

Thanks

Brian

Shellplates for whichever caliber you want to reload and one of the breakaway primer arms like this or a similar one: https://www.blackcatworks.com/Hornady-LNL-AP-Primer-Cam-Wire-Bracket_p_15.html

The factory one is pretty wimpy and if you get a primer jam it will break the wimpy plastic and put you out of commission. I bought two breakaway arms years ago and have been happy ever since. Now a primer jam just pops out the rod and does no damage. Clear the jam,pop the rod back in and carry on. No big deal. There are lots of guys 3d printing them and selling them.

Any standard reloading dies will work.

3D printed case feeders work pretty well.

Something like White 110MM 81SMD COB LED Halo Ring Angel Eyes Led Headlight with lampshade Cover 12V 24V off the big online retailer really lights things up.

Hornady Pistol powder drum and micro adjust thimble for it. I assume you will be doing small pistol cases 45acp and smaller?

Pistol Micrometer Metering Insert Item #050129 or Bench Rest Metering Insert Item #050114
Use with the Lock-N-Load® Bench Rest Powder Measure. The micrometer insert allows the user to make and monitor incremental changes and return to previous settings.
Not really sure if there is any actual difference

PISTOL ROTOR AND STANDARD PISTOL METERING INSERT
For use in your Lock-N-Load® Powder Measure, this pistol rotor features a smaller chamber for more precise metering of charge weights between .5 and 17 gr.

Shell plate #8 for 9mm and #45 for 45Acp(works better with the EZject than the older recommended #1).

Powder through expanders for case activation of the powder measure for pistol calibers you need.

You should get the PTX powder measure stop with new presses. It is used to get the right amount of neck expansion during the powder drop.
