Having used my LnL AP for a while now, I am confident in my opinion that the wire loaded round ejecter is a POS.
Hornaday now offers the EZ ject system as an upgrade for this issue.
Cost of returning the press to Hornady for the fix as well as the the $100.00 (US) fix, as well as the exchange cost for the shell plates - $20.00 (U.S.) ea. makes me think there must be a better (cheaper..faster)way.

Has anyone using an LnL AP devised a way to either modify the wire ejector, or anything else for that matter that will make it more effective???
If you have, would you be willing to share the fix ???
Thx

What caliber are you running?

I only ever ran into a problem with 9mm so I made a new wire for that.

Everything seems to work find for me.

But the EZject system does look cool..........but the jury is still out.

I am running .45acp and 9mm.
The 9mm is awful.
I was thinking of modifying the trailing side of the case holding slot in the shell plate so it doesn't bind. I'm thinking grind the corner off.
care to share your 9mm wire mod???

I'd like to see the pic of storm's wire as well.

Mine works fine, can be fussy with older 9mm where the rims are dinged up. Keep the wire close to the shellplate, keep the shellplate clean and possibly lubed (dry lube).

I'll try the eZject in a few months, but mostly for curiosity. Reports so far are fairly positive.

Mine is just bent further out (towards the user) to as to provide a gentler angle.

Did the same thing....Then just took it off..finger works well. The new EZEJECT has no wire. But who need a new press ,,,Old shell plates will not work with the new unit.

Uhhhhh.....?

why would you send the unit it back?

Just get them to ship you one ....for the cost of around $50(including shipping).

Instructions seem pretty simple on changing out.

I just ordered the Ezject upgrade, .45 ACP shell plate, and 10mm shell plate.

They threw in a New primer slide for FREE, even though I admitted it was my fault I damaged the original one.

I think I am going to add one of these this Spring when I get my big bonus check at work.

RCBS bullet feeder.
