I have one. Its very useful. I use it for setting up my dies since I only full length size. With it, I can precisely set them up to only bump back the shoulder 0.002".
If you already have the the bullet comparator, you only need the inserts. I still bought the extra mount though since I use both tools together (both fit on my caliper) for measuring the distance to the throat. I measure the headspace of the modified case that fits on the OAL tool and the headspace of a case that has been fired in my rifle. Then I can adjust my OAL precisely for my chamber.
The tool isn't very complicated though. If you have access to a lathe, its very simple to make. The inserts are essentially identical to the bullet comparator inserts, but longer and with different sized holes.
