I don't know about the cleaner you're asking about.
I went to the local Thrift Shop and picked up a large stainless steel roasting pot, without its cover for a Toonie. I put about 2 inches/4cm water into it, put it on the top of the stove and bring the water to a boil. Then I add whichever dish soap the wife has under the sink.
While the pot is heating up, I take the grips off the pistol and pull the cylinder, #### the hammer and immerse it all in the boiling water for about fifteen minutes. This completely frees up any crud, even the residue in the cylinder chambers and nipples.
A quick rinse with cold water to cool and brush down, then back into the pot while the small bits are being cooled and brushed as well. Back into the pot for another fifteen minutes or so.
Take the pan to the sink, drain off the filthy water and fill with cold water and rinse the parts. Check the crevices with a strong light for residue, usually there isn't any.
Rinse out all residue from the pan, put the parts back in and put it all into the oven on the "KEEP WARM" setting, for twenty minutes.
The pistol and parts should be completely dry, inside and out.
Lubricate appropriately/assemble and put the pistol back in the safe. The whole process takes around 60 minutes.
