I've been thinking about getting a Dillon 550 or possibly even a Dillon 650, but I keep hearing good things about the Hornady LNL AP and it's supposedly a lot less expensive.

Do you guys buy them direct from Hornady?
What is their warranty like?
Does it have an automatic case feeder option?
Do you have to use special Hornady dies?

Any there any other factors that I should consider?

Initially I'll only be loading for 9mm pistol.

Thanks!

Well Whitbyman, your link answered one of my questions... Cabelas lists the LNL for $370 and they show an automatic case feed option for $290 or you can buy the LNL w/case feed for $630.

I believe Higginson's and Wholesale sell them. Send your $$ to Andrew.

Hornady stand behind there products.

You can use any die set you like.

1) you can, but it's cheaper elsewhere
2) on their website - if it breaks (unless you abuse something), they replace it.
3) yes
4) no
5) yes, see the link in the previous post to my press comparison.

Do not miss out on the Hornady "GET LOADED" program!

It almost makes the press FREE!!!

I bought mine from Cabellas at Chirtmass ( before price increase)

It was $349.00...........and I got a $50 in Cabela bucks which brings it down to .

$299.00

Then I ordered 1000 rounds of 6.5x55 bullets for FREE!! Which have a value of $282.00

Which brings it down to $17.

But I did have to include postage for the bullets of $13.00

So you can say my press cost me $30!!!!

YES THIRTY DOLLARS NET FOR A LNL!!

I have broken my LNL AP twice, both times it was my fault and both times they sent me relacement parts free of charge.
Yes, I admitted that it was my fault the press broke and expected to pay for the parts.
I have nothing but good to say about my Hornady.

Did Cabelas ship it UPS or USPS ? The "Get Loaded" form claims the offer is only valid in the U.S. - did you pull a fast one on them? :D

BAST@RD!!!!!! they didn't have it when i bought mine, ah, hell is being an early adoptor.......:D :D :D

I bought my LNL from Cabela's. I like it so far but have little reloading experience so I can not compare it to anything else.

I guess the fact that it is functioning even though I have little experience has something positive to say for the LNL. I was missing a clear feeder tube in my auto case feeder kit and Hornady is sending it out free of charge from the factory.

I had my bullets shipped to a friends address in Illinois.........called Hornady and they said that would be fine.

He will either keep them and send me cash or ship them up in increments.

Oh and Cabelas shiped USPS....

They have their own brokerage in Windsor Ontario so you do not get killed by fees..

So do you have to buy the press with the case feeder? Last year the AP was selling for $300 usd. I can have the press and bullets shipped to a US postal box, so thats not a problem I don't think?

Maybe I will finaly get a progressive!

Well I dont know about any other company, but I bought a used Dillion and it had a broken primer pin. I phone Dillion and told them it was used and I just bought it. Not only did they send me a new pin, the sent a new cup and slider for free. Did not even charge me postage!! Their no BS plan is worth the money.
