Hornady lockn load case prep center, what do you think?

getting sore turning the de-burr tools on case mouths, looked at a couple case prep machines however for the extra dollars thinking the Hornady, anyone use one of these machines? how do you like it and does it work as they say?

I have the RCBS Universal case prep center, and it works very well. It makes trimming and deburring quick and easy.

Take a look at the Frankford arsenal prep station.

have to check the Frankford unit out, had not looked at it, for case length does it use the neck to trim OAL

I use the Hornady case prep center. It works. Still gets tedious and fingers get sore after 500 casings at a go. Learn to use it weak handed.

For what it costs, I would get a Giraud trimmer instead. Cases are simultaneously cut to length and chamfered in one operation.

Which ever one you buy, you'll like the fact that reloading is now a much faster process.
I own the RCBS case prep centre, and don't know how I managed without it.

I had the Hornady one, but I took it back. all of the bits turned wobbly. IE, bent or off center.

I'd like to get another one like this, but not the same one.

I have the Hornady machine, it works well. I like that it is so heavy I do not need to screw in into my bench to opporate it..FS

For me the Lyman unit won me over for a decent blend between price and use. It does a great job. Its only downside is that it's a bit of a sizable lump of a thing.

I did find that because of how we push the cases onto the cutters for deburring the case mouths that I got better results if I sized the brass first. The new brass doesn't always have the roundest of mouth openings as it comes out of the bag or box. And that caused the cutters to catch and the mouths to have a less than clean deburr. Once sized they turn just fine with the occasional exception that has a lump in the edge of the mouth that causes a skip.

Better designed deburring cutters might not cause this sort of issue. But they all seem to be the same from what I've seen.

+1 I have had good luck with this unit and it was affordable..
