hornady sst

No harm except the money you spent!

A saboted slug requires spin stabilization, which you won't get with a smooth bore, leading to loss of accuracy. You can get a choke tube with rifling for most screw-in systems, and that imparts a spin at the very end of the barrel. I've heard they work fairly well, even though we're talking about a comparatively short section to grab it and turn. What gun/barrel will you use?

it is just a waste of cash to shoot them thru your smooth barrel .you can buy 4 or 5 boxes of challenger rifled slugs for the price of the sst .Dutch

They tumble badly. I tried them for kicks once. I had to move to 40 yards before I could hit a maxim magazine and then only hit it twice. Challenger slugs are great and cheap

Sell them and buy the cheaper rifled slugs. Expensive at 4 bucks a shot while rifled slugs are like may 6 to 8 bucks for 5.
