Well it seems Hornady had discontinued the Steel Match and Im down to my last 20 rounds. Of course this stuff had the best grouping out of my rifle of a 5 shot clover leaf at 150 yards as well as being one of the cheapest available too. Does anyone have a good alternative? So far I have tried the Remington UMC, Winchester Law Enforcement, Hornady Varmint, Hornady Custom, Browning with the yellow tip and one other I cant remember the name of of hand. So far they shot ok but none group as well. I don't hand load at the moment so I'm stuck with factory rolled for now. Any suggestions?

Hornady loads a 55 BTHP in their American Gunner line. It's a bit slow at 3000fps/18.5" but groups pretty well out of everything I have run it in.

Black Hills Ammunition 5.56 77gr OTM.

It's the civilian version of the MK262 mod 1. Be hard pressed to find much better for your AR

Big fan of the steel match also running low.
Switched to frontier 55 hp 5.56 and it is pretty good ammo not as accurate as the steel match but really close.(in my rifle)
Comes in .223 and 5.56 pick the proper one for your chamber group size is better.

I've also been looking for more 75gr Steel Match. That stuff shoots fantastic in both my fast twist heavy bbl AR and my bolt action rifle. Never tried the 55gr version.
